If I were to tell you that sometimes I am scared to ask God for the things I need the most, would that seem weird? It’s not that I don’t want my faith to grow, or my relationship to Christ to become closer. As a Christian, these are the things we strive for the most. But looking back on my journey, the rocks that form my foundation of faith were solidified by great struggles, grief and pain. I came through these episodes mentally and spiritually stronger, however I don’t really want to repeat the process. So, even though I want to grow as child of God, to know him better, to serve him more, I don’t really want to endure the trials and tribulations that can hurt so much. But, I know his will supersedes all things and if it is indeed his will to endure more trials than the Bible tells us to rejoice.
New Living Translation (NLT)
2 Dear brothers and sisters,[a] when troubles come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy.3 For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. 4 So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing.
At the end of the day, always remember how much he loves you.
