You think God doesn’t care

This has been helpful to me since I heard it for the first time only a few days ago.

Psalm 56:8New Living Translation

8 You keep track of all my sorrows. You have collected all my tears in your bottle. You have recorded each one in your book.

Just as he has named every star, he has recorded every tear. Every tear, i have ever shed. Despite the reason, he was there, recording that moment. How close and Loving must our God be to record every tear we’ve ever cried. Yes he cares! He cares more than we can fathom! He Loves and does so unconditionally. You are never alone don’t believe lies just because his plans don’t always correspond to ours or to our time table. One day we may be basking in the midst of our creator reviewing His book and be in awe of the detailed accuracy of everything thata ever brought us to tears. He is with us during every sorrow and every joy. Keep crying, keep praying, keep listening, He is near, yesterday, today and forever. He Loves ALL of us, everyone, everwhere. Anyone can have this relationship if their request is sincere. Do your best, ask for forgiveness when you fail, ( and you will fail a lot). It doesn’t matter, keep remembering the verse above apply it and live it.

Written Prayer

Father. Maker of the Heavens and the Earth and everything in between. I am writing my prayer down to keep with me a tangible reminder of your greatness, your unending Grace and unconditional Love. When things are noicy, when I am away from this quiet spot. I despise the man I am. I want so much to be a living light amidst all the darkness, but inevitably I grow weak and fall back to my selfish impulses and desires. Only to end up here in these quiet moments begging your forgiveness, praying I do better tomorrow.
There is hope for me as long as I can persevere and continue to live with gratitude in my heart for all the blessings you have provided in spite of my selfish ways. Father I know the blood of your son Jesus Christ washes me white as snow every time I come to you in his name. I pray to the Holy Spirit that he may come to you and pray on my behalf for the needs in my heart, especially for those I am unaware of needing. I also pray that he might lead me and direct my ways in order to fulfill my purpose. I do not ask these things for my glory, but rather for Your Glory, for the Glory of Your Kingdom in Heaven and on Earth. May my life be pleasing in your site and may it be used as it was intended from the beginning.

In the Name of Jesus Christ I pray.
Amen !

An Attitude of Gratitude

Having an Attitude of Gratitude

by Robert Moment

As you read this article, take a moment to answer the following question, “Is there a reason for me to be thankful today?”  If you are alive to read the question, then you have a reason for rejoicing!  It may not always seem that way when troubles press in on you, but as long as you are alive, you have the opportunity to change your life and move forward.

One of the most important gifts of all is life, and it was given to you by the Lord.  Sometimes we forget the generosity of a loving God.  After all, He doesn’t need us and did not have to create us in the first place.  Yet he wished to share His blessings and so created man in His own image so that He could shower man with love.  And even when man first betrayed God in the Garden of Eden, God continued to love and protect mankind.  He forgave us our faults and sent his only son, Jesus Christ, to give us guidance and grant us forgiveness!  And God continues to do this, even though we often forget to be grateful for His kindness.

Now think back over the previous month.  Have you lived in Gratitude?  Have you remembered and acknowledged God’s grace and goodwill in your life?  It’s easy to forget our many blessings when we are stressed, but we need to re-evaluate our lives during these moments.  When your job stresses you, thank God that you are employed.  When your children talk back, praise God for giving you healthy children.  Even when you are going through a painful separation or quarrel, remember that God is there for you, and be thankful that He is there to pull you through.

“And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in the one body.  And be thankful.”
– Colossians 3:15

When we have an attitude of gratitude, we soon discover that we attract greater good in our lives.  Be grateful for all of the good that the Lord has granted you, and you will soon reap even greater blessings.  As you read this article, be grateful for the gift of sight and the opportunity you had to learn to read and learn.  Giving thanks to God for all of the many daily blessings in your life – shelter, food, your senses, friends and family – opens your heart to all the good you have and enables you to appreciate and share your blessings.  Sharing those blessings and being grateful for them brings you closer to God.

“Yours, O Lord, is the greatness and power
and the glory and majesty and the splendor,
for everything in heaven and earth is yours…
In your hands are strength and power
To exalt and give strength to all.
Now, our God, we give you thanks,
And praise your glorious name.”
– 1 Chronicles 29:11

So as you move through your days and weeks, keep your eyes on the goodness of God and recognize that He has, in His generosity and love, given you far more than anyone else can ever give you.  Find the blessings in every situation and you will develop an attitude of gratitude for the many physical, material, emotional and spiritual blessings that have been given by God, the source of all good in our lives.  Each day, show your gratitude to God and thank Him with all your heart.

“And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.”
– Colossians 3:17

You are not born a tree

Have you ever seen a Mustard tree? The kind Jesus refers to in his teachings. If you haven’t, take time to look it up and then look at how that tree started.

It started out as a very tiny seed. Think about the changes a mustard seed must endure to become a new creation. It grows in very hot temperatures where rain is modest, yet it endures and starts to sprout. As the sprout reaches towards the sun it is continually bombarded with wind, heat animals, yet it endures, growing stronger despite the harsh environment, eventually becoming the strong and sturdy tree which produces fruit and provides sanctuary to those exposed to same conditions it thrives in.
I have often heard this story as it relates to faith and how just a little bit can accomplish great things. But sometimes Christians when they give their life to Christ, feel like their faith is as big and sturdy as the mustard tree, when in reality, it’s the size of a seed. Many of us want our faith to be the size of a tree that produces fruit and comfort to others, but we want to skip the entire growing process. We don’t like the wind, the scorching heat, the weight of the sand on top of us, fighting to survive with occasional water for relief. Growing is hard, it’s exhausting, it can’t start, then stop. It either grows or it dies. I myself have planted more than a few seeds. Some have sprouted, some died almost instantly. But I keep trying and I finally have a seed that has roots. Granted they aren’t as deep as they could be, but the point it’s growing.

Teachers Duty

Lately I have been inspired by a teacher. It got me thinking, what attributes in him did I find most appealing.

His delivery is solid. After 35 years teaching, he us comfortable speaking in front of others without the fear of judgements.

When he teaches he allows his students to view topics through the lenses of some of the world’s greatest philisophers, both past and present.

What makes  him a great teacher is that he gives to his students indisputable facts, a variety of perspectives and demands each student form their own belief. But be wary, once you have picked a stance you must be prepared to defend it.

I get so frustrated with people regurgitating the words of someone else. We were all gifted with a mind, uniquely affected by our experiences. Be original, share your thoughts, share your perspective. Just remember to listen to another side before judging others. You might just see things differently and o what difference that can make.
